Chennai, Nov. 28:
Chennai Corporation Commissioner Kumaragurubaran has announced that voters must properly fill out and submit their voter enumeration forms in order for their names to be included in the revised voter list. Without submitting the completed forms, names will not be added to the electoral roll, he stressed.
A special voter list revision drive has been underway since November 4 across all 16 Assembly constituencies in Chennai. As part of this exercise, booth-level officers (BLOs) visited households and distributed the required enumeration forms to the voters.
To create awareness and ensure accurate submissions, the Chennai Corporation also conducted several awareness campaigns. Additionally, assistance centres were set up at polling stations where voters could directly fill and submit their forms. The completed forms are now being uploaded into the Election Commission’s official app.
However, a significant number of voters are yet to submit their completed forms. The Corporation has urged such voters to complete and hand over the forms immediately to their respective booth-level officers.
Commissioner’s Official Statement:
District Election Officer and Corporation Commissioner Kumaragurubaran said:
“Voters must fill and submit the enumeration forms given to them on or before December 4. Only if the form is properly completed and returned will the voter’s name be included in the updated voter list. Do not wait until the last date. Voters should cooperate with this important work of the Election Commission by submitting the forms as early as possible.
If any booth-level officer refuses to receive a completed form, voters can immediately contact the Corporation’s helpline at 1913.”
