The Joint Action Committee of Tamil Nadu Primary School Teachers’ Associations (TITTOJAC) recently staged continuous roadblock protests in Chennai on July 16 and 17, pressing for a set of 10 demands. Key among these demands are the reinstatement of the Old Pension Scheme and the resolution of pay disparities for secondary-grade teachers.
The association has also announced plans to hold a “Fort Siege” protest on August 22.
Meanwhile, the School Education Department has invited TITTOJAC leaders for talks. The meeting will be chaired by Minister Mahesh at the Secretariat on August 14 at 9:00 a.m.
